About SOGON |

The Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) is the umbrella professional organization of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians in Nigeria. It was inaugurated in April 1965 and formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a Non-Government Organization in 1999, RC No. 2156. It is an affiliate member of the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and the African Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AFOG).
Its members are distributed across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria and outside the country.
SOGON has a vision that Nigerian women achieve the highest possible standards of physical, mental, reproductive and sexual health and wellbeing throughout their lives.
SOGON works with the Federal Ministry of Health, International Development Partners, other professional bodies and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria.

Tropical Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a publication of Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria, is a peer-reviewed print + online journal. The journal’s full text is available online at https://www.tjogonline.com. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.
The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Reproductive Health, and Allied disciplines in the tropics. Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Reproductive Health, Basic Science Research, clinical research, clinical trials, critical reviews, commentaries, public health controversies, consensus reports, special articles, case reports, letters, and other appropriate forms of communications in Maternal and Foetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Gynaecological Oncology, Female Urology, and other aspects of Reproductive Health. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference.
